Azores Chapter III the environment

The climate in the Azores is less Caribbean than many might think. Temperatures range from 18 degrees in winter to 25 degrees in summer, though there is always high humidity and plenty of rainfall. All over the islands, you’ll find volcanic pools by the sea, some of which are fed by hot springs. In Horta on Faial, countless sailors have been gathering for years to cross the Atlantic. There, they leave their mark on the harbour wall with hand-painted mementos, either before or after crossing the Atlantic.
